The COVID-19 pandemic exposed systematic, functional deficits in system-critical sectors such as social services, public administration, homeland security, fire protection, education and care, logistics, and information and telecommunications. Strengthening the resilience of companies and organizations from these sectors is therefore essential for society.
Within the project "New Work for system-relevant areas (NewWork4KeyWorker)", recommendations for the design of New Work to promote organizational resilience in system-relevant areas will be developed together with practice partners and associated partners, and tailored solutions will be found. Problem-centered interviews with employees, managers and social partners will be conducted and evaluated using qualitative methods. Work processes and working conditions will be observed and analyzed. In addition, interprofessional workshops and management trainings will be designed and concrete recommendations for action will be given to create motivating and healthy working conditions. Mentors will be trained who will also have the necessary knowledge after the end of the project to continue the developed measures and ideas and adapt them as needed.
The aim of the project is to develop sustainable HR concepts for the system-relevant area and, in the next step, to make them accessible to a broad public. The results of the research project are of great relevance as they provide fundamental insights into the design of working conditions in the 21st century and are intended to support companies and organizations in successfully overcoming current and future crises, counteracting the shortage of skilled workers and building up, preserving and promoting suitable resources in this context.
