Research assistant
Mona-Maria Bardmann has been a research assistant at the Chair of Sociology at the University of Hohenheim since January 2020. From 2018 to 2021, she worked as a project administrator in the DIAMANT project – Digitalized Idea and Work Management in Production, Logistics, and Trade. Since November 2020, she has been a research assistant and doctoral candidate in the DFG project ANDROMEDA – Autonomy and Control in Digital Work Contexts of High-reliability Organizations: The Cases of Medical Centers and Airports.
In her research, she investigates the dynamics of collaborative work processes and the influence on the identities of individuals, teams, and organizations in the context of digital transformation processes, particularly in connection with the use of digital systems and artificial intelligence (AI) in work and decision-making structures. Theoretically, she draws on organizational sociology and sociology of work perspectives, interactionist and power-analytical approaches to identity, social practices in organizations, and forms of structuring and negotiating collaborative work. Empirically, her interest is primarily focused on system-relevant contexts with high reliability requirements (high-reliability organizations; HRO).
Her research also feeds into her teaching, particularly in the bachelor's lectures “Work and Organization in Digital Transformation” and “Social Sciences,” the master's lecture “Economy, Change, and Society,” and the bachelor's seminar “Leadership in Practice.”
