Digitalized Idea and Work Management in Production, Logistics and Trade (DIAMANT)

The digital transformation is fundamentally changing value-added processes especially in production, logistics and trade. Up to now, digitalization in organizations is usually implemented as top-down process initiated by managers, but the acceptance of new technologies in work processes is higher if workers are able to participate.

This is the starting point of the project Digitalized Idea and Work Management in Production, Logistics and Trade (“DIAMANT”), which identifies and implements options for the innovative organization and design of idea and work management in digitalized work systems. In cooperation with workers, works councils and managers, we develop jointly digitalization strategies in cooperation with Balcke-Dürr, Greiwing and REWE, and support their implementation. The introduction of new technologies is used to make work safe, healthy and motivating. Since the new digitalized work processes generally result in new work requirements and altered competence profiles such as abstraction and problem-solving skills in dealing with complexity and, moreover, change relationships with colleagues and team leaders, we offer individualized workshops on self-control, cooperation and leadership. An e-coaching system aims to strengthen the self-efficacy of workers and managers in the long term. In addition, the participation of workers is promoted through a digitalized idea management system in order to identify further starting points for improvements in the digitalized value creation processes and working conditions. The quality of the adjustments made in the organizations are measured ex ante and ex post with a newly developed instrument for mental stress and strain (“Risk Assessment”, DIN EN ISO 10.075) in digitalized work systems.
