Marc Jungtäubl, Christopher Zirnig and Caroline Ruiner investigate the ethical conditions of successful human-machine interaction.

The article examines the relationship between human-computer interaction (HCI), autonomy participation, and alienation in the workplace. Based on a quantitative empirical study with 1989 workers in Germany, the analysis shows that the impact of HCI use on alienation decreases when worker engagement is high.
