A publication by Caroline Ruiner on "Voluntary work in digital contexts as gift exchange" has just been published in Sustainability. This paper is about the analysis of volunteers' motives in digitally supported volunteer work. As a result, volunteering comes down to the interplay of "interest for" (a cause) and "interest in" (a good). However, this can lead to further challenges at the organizational level.
