42nd EGOS Colloquium 2026  [10.03.26]

The Chair of Sociology is represented at this year's 42nd EGOS Colloquium in Bergamo with a contribution.

At the conference, which is being held in a hybrid online format in Bergamo and local hubs this year, the chair will present current research from the DFG-funded research project “Cooperatives as new labor market organizations for external workers – revitalizing economic democracy?”, which contributes to research on organizational learning processes in cooperatives with the aim of democratic adaptation to external tensions:

  • Niels Grote, Caroline Ruiner, Martin Möller, and Birgit Apitzsch will present their paper "Learning to steer through turbulence. How cooperatives of solo self-employed maintain course under external pressures" as part of the sub-theme: Social Movements, Alternative Organizations, and the Democratization of the Economy, organized by Simone Schiller-Merkens, Philip Balsiger, and Sébastien Mena.

We look forward to stimulating discussions and exchanges at the Local Hub at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
